		<description>Chin retractions.....if there is any facet joint irritation or arthritic issues, the chin tucks might re-inflame the area. We have found cervical alignment activities and scapular activation are helpful daily regular postural realignment activities that are easy to perform. <description>Hi Rick,

Just came by way of your site from a friend and wanted to make a few comments on your suggestions;

FYI, chin retractions are Contra-Indicated for people with facet joint irritation as they increase shearing forces through the facets with causes further degeneration.

When you say arching the spine I assume you are meaning extension based exercises. I&#039;d caution against giving this to someone with spondylolisthesis as it will create more pain and dysfunction.

I&#039;m assuming that when you give these exercises with your approval you are taking for granted that the people you are suggesting them for are actually aware that there are contra-indications for these exercises in certain populations that these exercises would make worse, right?

Regards,

		<description>Liam,

Thank you for the comment. I go through things in more detail in the Postural Assessment &amp; Exercise Prescription course. I am still trying to figure out what people are looking for from me. If you would like more detailed videos of exercise, I can do that. Leave a comment below and let me know what you would like me to cover in the videos.

		<description>Hi Rick,
you speak about stretching the low back by arching, what do you mean? why not use anatomical terms for direction of movement to make it clear if you are talking about flexion or extention of the lumbar spine. arching is a relative term depending on your position. demonstration would help make it clear what you mean therefore the language being precise is important.
