Your involuntary or visceral muscles are also called the myofascial networks. These muscles operate beneath the surface and support all of the other muscles in your body. When you perform strength-training exercises like squats and lunges, you build strong bones, tendons, and ligaments. In contrast, when you do cardio exercises like jogging and cycling that work your heart and lungs, you build strong visceral muscles.
