3 Keys to Remember when Training a Client with Chronic Shoulder Subluxations

Chronic subluxations of the shoulder can be a difficult problem to treat. The best approach is to find a capable physical therapist skilled in treating this condition. A physical therapist can accurately assess the situation and develop an effective treatment plan. They will also have the necessary skills and experience to treat this condition effectively. For those who cannot find a capable physical therapist, self-treatment may be an option.

However, it should only be attempted by those with a strong understanding of proper technique and anatomy. One of the most important aspects of treating chronic subluxations is adequate shoulder joint alignment.

This can be accomplished by strengthening the rotator cuff muscles and scapular stabilizers. In addition, it is essential to move through various ranges of motion to prevent stiffness. In addition, trigger point therapy and soft tissue mobilization techniques may be beneficial in relieving some of the pain associated with chronic shoulder subluxations.

How to Asses Clients with this Condition?

To effectively train a client with chronic shoulder subluxations, you must start by assessing the cause of the problem. In cases where there is an apparent reason for the discomfort, such as injury or previous surgery, you must provide appropriate medical attention.

However, if the cause of the pain is unclear, the doctor may need to perform more invasive tests to learn more about the nature of the problem. For example, if a client reports that his shoulder pain is mainly in his neck and upper back, the doctor may take X-rays to identify fractures or other structural damage.

Once this type of damage has been ruled out, a more careful evaluation can be performed to determine whether any other underlying issues could be causing chronic shoulder subluxation. Because many different factors can cause chronic shoulder subluxations, it is important to work with an expert when trying to treat them.

While self-care is essential and can go a long way, you should also consult a medical professional for additional guidance. By enlisting the help of a trained professional, you can ensure that you are taking all the necessary steps to fix your chronic shoulder subluxation and get back to your normal activities as soon as possible.

Three key things to remember when Training a Client with Chronic Shoulder Subluxations are:

  1. You need to know what direction the instability within that client subluxation or instability, is it’s anterior, inferior, or posterior
  2. You need to look and see what they are doing at work, at home, and for recreational activities to see if they are promoting or continuing to sub lux the shoulder.
  3. You need to look at the exercise that you are giving and see if those exercises are promoting subluxation
