DESCRIPTION:

It can be confusing how to approach upper body conditioning with your clients. Most times, fitness professionals start with strengthening and hope for the best. Fitness professionals must have a systematic approach to assessing the upper body, corrective exercises that match the assessment results, and a detailed program structure to get maximal and rapid results for the upper body. Suppose you are looking for an active and practical course. In that case, you will leave with a comprehensive upper body assessment and an expansive list of corrective exercises and training techniques to increase your success in training the upper body.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

Brian Justin, MHK, CEP, CSCS

Brian is currently a Kinesiology Lab Instructor at the University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford. He earned his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of British Columbia. Brian’s areas of concentration are exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, injury management, ergonomics, and exercise testing and prescription. He is a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) through CSEP. Additionally, Brian is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, CSEP- Certified Personal Trainer, CHEK Level 1 Practitioner (Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiologist), and NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist.

Brian’s clientele has ranged from post-rehabilitation to recreational and varsity athletes and everything in between. Besides teaching students and training clients, he currently authors manuals and articles. He has contributed to 4 chapters in Human Kinetics Publisher’s book Foundations of Professional Personal Training. Brian is the past Chair of CSEP-BC. He is passionate about spreading the word about the benefits of physical activity for health, performance, and injury prevention.

Rick Kaselj – MS, BSc, PK, CPT, CEP, CES

Rick Kaselj specializes in exercise rehabilitation, post-rehab, active rehabilitation, therapy, and corrective exercise. He works in one-on-one and group rehabilitation settings, training people who have been injured at work, in car accidents, and during sports activities. His clients and group exercise participants include a wide variety of individuals from healthy and special populations. Rick has given over 233 presentations to 4531 fitness professionals and consumers across Canada while working in rehabilitation centers, physiotherapy clinics, fitness clubs, and personal training studios. Rick recently completed his Master of Science degree focusing on corrective and therapeutic exercises for the rotator cuff.
