Denise Mend
Denise Mend is a physiotherapist who lives and practices in the south Okanagan, BC. Denise succeeded in a multi-sport career, including swimming, field hockey and basketball. She finished playing varsity basketball at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC, where she also completed a BSC in Kinesiology. This led to a physiotherapy degree at the University of British Columbia in 1993.
Denise and her family now reside in Naramata, BC, where they take advantage of outdoor opportunities throughout the year. Skiing, stand-up paddling, hiking, beach volleyball and wharf yoga are just a few of the pastimes they enjoy. Denise and her husband also travel extensively.
When at home, Denise focuses her efforts on her clinical practice, specializing in persistent pain, vestibular dysfunction and complex musculoskeletal problems. She particularly enjoys treating shoulders and hips, but being located in a small town, sees everything under MSK classifications. She has a passion for continuing education, and takes courses every year to enrich her knowledge and skills. One of Denise’s favourite educational opportunities is the San Diego Pain Summit, a yearly symposium of experts from around the world. She is passionate about empowering people to meet their mobility goals, and appreciates using technology to deliver help to an even a wider audience.
