Spider Butter Cookies

Spider Butter Cookies

Ideal for Halloween parties or just for snacking during this time of year, these spider butter cookies are made with ingredients that are better for you and your family than traditional white flour and white sugar. INGREDIENTS

  • 1 butter stick, at room temperature
  • 3 cups blanched almond flour
  • 2 tablespoon coconut milk
  • 1/3 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ounce dark chocolate, unsweetened

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix the butter with the sugar until soft.  Moreover, add the vanilla extract and mix again. Add half of the flour quantity and use a spatula to incorporate into the butter mixture.
  2. Add the milk, and remaining flour, and mix until you get a dough. You can also form the cookie dough with your hands.
  3. Moreover, line 2 baking trays with parchment paper. Take 1 tablespoon of dough, roll it into a ball and place on the tray. Flatten with the back of your hand or the spatula.
  4. Put the halloween cookies into the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 325F. Bake the cookies for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and leave them in the trays for 5 minutes to set up before placing on a wire rack to cool.
  6. Meanwhile, place the chocolate in a small bowl. Additionally, put the bowl on a small saucepan filled with water over medium heat. Stir the chocolate to melt. Set aside to cool and thicken a little bit.
  7. Transfer the chocolate into a piping bag to decorate the cookies.
  8. Draw 3 intersecting lines and draw several lines between them to create a spider web. You could also draw the spider’s body and add its feet.
