I am on my way to hang out with Juan Pablo, more about that in a minute.
Today has been a crazy day, getting ready to head out of town. I am leaving rainy Vancouver and heading to Miami.
Before I left, I had a meeting with a professor from the university that I graduated from. He wanted to meet me because he is working on putting together a course on evidence-based rehabilitation. Which in English is using the latest research to help fitness and health professionals determine which exercises to use for injuries and pain.
I have been doing this since 1994 (Wow, this year is 20 years.).
The conversation went well and I am going to be heading up to the university to do a guest lecture on what I do – using exercise to help people overcome injury and pain. Looking forward to it and I will keep you posted on how it goes.
Also at the meeting was Darlene, who was my co-op coordinator (sets up work terms for students in their field of study) when I was in university. She updated me on what is going on with the Department of Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada. Plus she let me know the department that I graduated from in 1997 will be celebrating its 50th anniversary, next year. So if you are a kinesiology grad from my old school, they are organizing a big party September 2015. Also, everyone’s favourite prof, Craig A, will be retiring after 50 years of teaching.
One more thing, before I get to Juan.
Yesterday’s article on 7 Worst Foods for Your Joints, got me thinking.
For people that are deep into fitness, health and watch what they eat, the foods may not be a surprise, but the majority of people do not know this and do not live it.
Why is it that people are not getting the message or changing what they eat?
That is a big question.
I just know with the hundreds of health and fitness professionals that I worked with, when it comes to helping their clients overcome their injury and pain, only a small number stressed the importance of food in the recovery from injury and pain. Kind of sad.
Please do help get the word out and share the article – 7 Worst Foods for Your Joints
It is quickly becoming a popular article on EFI with 681 Facebook shares.
Continuing on with food, after I sent you the article on “The Most Addictive White Powder (It’s Not What You Think)“, I said I had a video that I had watched that opened up my eyes when it came to that white substance, here is that video:

Now lets get to Juan Pablo.
If you are female, there is a good chance that you know who Juan Pablo is and all about Juan-uary.
If you do not know who Juan Pablo is, he is the new Bachelor and a lot of people are talking about him. With Hostages ending now my wife will be watching Bachelor on Monday nights while I watch Blacklist. (Okay, I admit it, I probably will watch a little bit of Bachelor.)
As I said above, I am on my way to Miami. (I am sitting at the Seattle airport typing this out.)
I am heading to a Fitness Mastermind Meeting with well over 40 fitness professionals. A few people that will be at the meeting, that you know from EFI, are Craig Ballantyne, Bedros Keulian, Joel Marion, Vince Del Monte, Mike Westerdal, Shawna Kaminski, Ben Teal, Catherine Gordon, Dan Ritchie, Dennis Heenan, Forest Vance, JR Burgess, Kate Vidulich, Maria Mountain, Mike Whitfield, Sylvia Favela, Travis Stoetzel and more.
We will be chatting about training and business stuff.
I will make sure to do some videos with the above for you and post them on EFI.
While I am down in Miami, I will watch out for Juan Pablo and see if I can get a photo with him.
That is it, have a great night.
We will talk to you tomorrow.
