If you want to be a runner, you have to run. But if you want to keep running, you must protect your body from injury and prevent it as much as possible. Running is an activity that puts a lot of strain on your joints and muscles. Unless you take preventive measures, it’s easy for your performance to decline after just a few runs. We’re excited to introduce you to our new online Fitness Education course – Injury-Free Running! If you’re reading this article, chances are that you want to become a runner but are concerned about the potential risks of this pursuit. You might worry that running could lead to joint pain or leave you with lingering physical side effects from overtraining. Or perhaps you know someone who suffered an unfortunate running-related injury and doesn’t want the same thing happening to you.

What is the Injury-Free Running Fitness Education Course?

If you’re worried about the potential pitfalls of starting a course routine, you’re in luck! We’ve developed an online course to help you learn the fundamentals of injury-free running. This course will help you avoid common pitfalls associated with running, such as injury, fatigue, and poor nutrition. This course will introduce you to the fundamentals of injury-free running, including topics such as How to warm up properly before a run, How to cool down after a run, and How to prevent, treat, and recover from running injuries. The course is divided into five chapters that will be accessible as soon as you sign up. Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll be certified as an injury-free runner!

Course Description:

Within a year, 65% of runners will become injured to the point where they must decrease their training. This course offers instruction for fitness and rehabilitation professionals on how to get their patients running harmlessly. This 7-hour session will allow participants to understand the mechanics involved in running, how to assess the runner, training and recovery techniques, and dynamic warm-up exercises. In addition, exercise rehabilitation of common running injuries like IT band syndrome, hip flexor tightness, plantar fasciitis, and shin splints will be covered. Join Ironman finisher and outdoor adventurer Rick Kaselj as he helps keep you and your running clients injury-free.

Course Objectives:

  • The mechanics of running
  • How to assess runners
  • Run training and recovery techniques
  • Dynamic warm-up exercises will be discussed and demonstrated
  • Exercise programs for IT band syndrome, hip flexor tightness, plantar fasciitis, and shin splints

Please note: We will perform running and joint assessments during the class. It is essential to wear clothing that allows for an accurate running evaluation and common asWearlease wear biking shorts, a t-shirt or sports top, and running shoes.

Course Fee:

  • $149 plus HST – before February 15
  • $194 plus HST – after February 26

The course fee includes a comprehensive and detailed course manual.

About the Presenter:

Rick Kaselj – MS, BSc, PK, CPT, CEP, CES

Rick Kaselj specializes in exercise rehabilitation, post-rehab, active rehabilitation, therapy, and correcCoursexercise. He works in one-on-one and group rehabilitation settings, training injured people who have been at work, in car accidents, and during sports activities. His clients and group exercise participants include a wide variety of individuals from healthy and special populations. Rick has given over 233 presentations to 4,531 fitness professionals and consumers across Canada while working in rehabilitation centers, physiotherapy clinics, fitness clubs, and personal training studios. Rick recently completed his Master of Science degree focusing on corrective and therapeutic exercises for the rotator cuff.
